Hello and welcome to Tuning in to the Harps, we’re thrilled to share our adventures with you.

You are probably here because you already know that we (Declan and Amanda Harp) are heading off on our 6 month vacay around Europe and Australia. Please subscribe if you would like consistent updates on all our travels.

Let’s fly back to 2020… We had been dating a few months and were talking about things we would like to do in the future. Europe was a no brainer for Declan not having been before. Although I had lived in London for two years I wasn’t hesitant either. Before we were even able to think of planning a trip, March 2020 rolls around. Unable to travel and create plans together, we pivoted towards a different type of adventure; travelling around Australia in a camper. This was our new plan which was well underway when we tied the knot in Nov 2022. Following the wedding, the world was opening up. We were looking at our savings and thoughts were flying through our minds like “why not both?”, “let’s do it all before we settle” and “I don’t think we have to choose one or the other”. So here we are, about to set foot into 5 weeks across Europe and 5 months on the road in this bad boy.

The past 6 months have been a monster, jumping straight from a DIY wedding to renovating our house, landscaping the front garden ready, building fences, planning accommodation and itinerary for overseas, upgrading the 4WD and converting the car boot into a kitchen, Customising our camper trailer AND practising camping trips. All while working full time (Amanda in a new job with a broken toe)! The light at the end of the tunnel is here. Less then a month till we fly away and all the hard work will be worth it.
